Community health screenings
Free health, vision and dental screenings were supported by participating dental offices, enrollment centers and Payless Pharmacy’s specially priced screening materials.
Educational outreach
The foundation’s first educational infomercial aired in July 2005 on cable and two broadcast stations, sharing information about access to preventive care.
The HOPE Project
Launched for people receiving unemployment benefits or recently disenrolled from Medi-Cal or Healthy Families, the project offered no-cost memberships to 55,000 individuals and families. Members remained responsible for discounted service fees. The project served Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and San Bernardino counties.
