This year, our 5th year, we hope to offer the Healthcare Resources Programs to even more people in our communities. We launched our Special Grant Reimbursement Program. With the help of select providers and the generous donations from private grant funding, many members have been able to see a doctor for only $10.00, dentists for $15.00 and optometrists for $15.00.
Welcome to all our new providers that have just joined our network. This year we are expanding our program north into the Ventura, Central California, Sacramento and San Francisco Bay areas. We appreciate your referrals for additional providers to accommodate the growing members in these regions.
Healthcare Resources is a partner with the San Gabriel Valley Worksource Center Business advisory Council, and this year we were invited to the So. El Monte Veteran Job Fair in April. It was a great turn out and there were many uninsured people that will benefit from our program.
Special Projects
In prior years with the support of our providers we were able to offer various projects that helped keep your friends and neighbors healthy, some of the programs offered are to follow:
In the beginning of 2005 we provided free health, vision, and dental screenings. Thanks to Payless Pharmacy for offering special prices for the screening materials, the enrollment centers that provided the space and the dental offices that agreed to offer free check ups.
Our Project Wellness Program offers free membership to needy families in Monterey Park and has helped hundreds of uninsured families so far. This program was made possible through special funding.
Our Health Care Benefit Card (HCBC) program, started last year, was available at various churches, non profit organizations, youth and senior centers, and government offices. This program offered a 12 month membership at a subsidized rate and focused on preventative care. We were able to reach out to a lot of the uninsured and lower income families that could not qualify for government offered programs.
We formed partnerships with some of our providers, Morelia Medical Clinic, Thoi H. Lien M.D., and Dejun Wang M.D. to assist members in applying for free government programs.
It is going on 2 years since we offered our complete provider directory to members online making access to doctors and other providers more convenient and up to date.
In July 2005 we aired our first educational infomercial on cable and 2 broadcast stations, trying again to reach out to the communities and offer alternatives to the high costs of preventative health care. Thank you very much to the providers, their staff, agents and members for their participation and support.
Although
we are not insurance, our preventative health care program educates
and encourages regular check-ups through our quality network of
providers. Within the HOPE Project, to those who qualify, the monthly
membership fees will be waived, but the individual will only pay
for the lowest cost for their doctor visits and other health care
needs.
2003
The Year of Giving Hope
Our continued commitment to fight on behalf
of those who are so often left without a voice, has made the
HOPE
Project
an asset to those whom are in dire need of
some type of health care coverage.
In 2003, Healthcare Resources launched HOPE Project to the public. The HOPE Project offered our healthcare membership at no cost to 55,000 individuals and families whom are currently receiving unemployment, or recently dis-enrolled from Medi-cal or Healthy Families program.
HOPE Project was designed to contribute and assist with the problem of what 7 million Californians are faced with everyday, not having any type of health care coverage.
The project served as a helping hand in assisting the unemployed and under insured individuals residing in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and San Bernardino County. The HOPE Project is here to help people get back on their feet after being used to having some type of health care coverage through their previous employment or government funded programs.
